5 Oldest Living Actors Who Are Still Active

By Glenn Krakow, 9:00 am on

While most American movie icons are young and beautiful, there are some who prove age is just a number. Many actors are over 80 years old and still performing regularly. El Dorado senior care experts discuss the lives of 5 movie actors your senior loved one might remember from when he or she was younger and who continue to stay in the limelight.

1. Christopher Plummer

Very few people can forget Christopher Plummer’s wonderful performances in The Sound of Music and The Pink Panther. More recently, Plummer, who was born on December 13th, 1929, appeared in the 2015 movie Remember, which told the story of two Holocaust survivors who went on a road trip to find other survivors. When Plummer is not working on a film, he enjoys spending time at his farm near Wheaton, Connecticut.

2. Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood is another actor who refuses to retire. He was born on May 31st, 1930, in San Francisco, California. He is best remembered for his Dirty Harry films. Most recently, he turned to directing with American Sniper, which was released on December 25th, 2014. Eastwood loves to read, travel, and meditate.

3. Robert Duvall

Robert Duvall’s newest movie, In Dubious Battle, was released on September 5th, 2016. In the past, he has acted films like Lonesome Dove, To Kill a Mockingbird, and the first two Godfather films. When he is not busy acting, he enjoys dancing the tango. He even had a special building built at his farm just for this purpose.

4. Michael Caine

Michael Caine is one of the busiest actors in the business. Born on March 14th, 1933, he just finished filming Coup D’etat, which is set for release early next year. He is currently filming Four Kids and It, and he is most recently known for his performances in The Dark Knight, Inception, and The Prestige. When he is not busy filming, he fills his days with cooking and gardening.

5. Donald Sutherland

Donald Sutherland is another actor who does not stop working. He just finished filming Measure of a Man, Basmati Blues, and the short film Point and Shoot. He will also be appearing in The Leisure Seeker, which is in post-production. Sutherland regularly makes appearances in the TV series Ice. This busy actor was born in 1935.

These five actors have not let age stand in their way. An active lifestyle spent pursuing their passions and careers seems to be the reason for their longevity.
