Glenn Krakow, OwnerGlenn Krakow – Owner, Senior Resource Adviser

I am the owner of Home Care Assistance of El Dorado County. My family moved to El Dorado County in 2001. After 20 years as a corporate employee, I decided it was time to build a family business.

As our parents aged, we started the challenging journey of learning about options for senior care. We discovered 90% of seniors wish to stay at home and age in place. After learning that most seniors do not end up aging at home, we decided to find out why. Caring for loved ones is challenging in many ways.  Primary issues are a lack of information regarding options and our loved ones uncertainty. Uncertainty may be better stated as their fear of making the wrong decision. We decided to be part of the solution. After an extensive analysis we decided Home Care Assistance was the best option for in-home care. In 2014 we joined Home Care Assistance. Each passing month confirms we are providing the best services, allowing seniors to age the way they want, with safety and dignity at home.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Tulane University and a Master of Business Administration from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Monica and I have been married since 1982. We are proud parents of Sara and Jacob. We have two dogs, Toby and Cooper, as well as our cat, Salem.

Community involvement has always been important. When our kids were young I coached and refereed club soccer. I was a Cub Scout den leader and a Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master. Currently I am an ambassador with the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce and a member of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce. We also sponsor local Alzheimer’s Association events and support the El Dorado Hills Senior Center.

I have a deeply rooted passion for helping seniors. When I was a relatively young adult, our family received devastating news about the health of both of our parents. Living 60 miles away from them made it difficult to help as much as I wanted. Fortunately, my family got through this difficult time with help from a wonderful caregiver. Participating in caring for both my parents taught me a lot about compassion for seniors facing difficult challenges. Sadly, we lost both of our parents within six months of each other.

My early professional career focused on marketing and advertising. After taking a break to focus on raising my two wonderful children, I decided to work in an area where I could follow my passions around helping seniors. Quality of life, changing the way the world ages and extending life are my passions. It is a blessing to know I am helping our clients and their families navigate the challenges of aging.

As the Business Development Manager for Home Care Assistance of El Dorado County, I make sure the community is aware that they have options regarding care for the loved ones. Staying as independent as possible while being safe at home is what most people prefer. I am dedicated to helping families achieve these goals.

When I am away from work I enjoy watching my husband and son dirt bike race, my daughter playing tennis and running with my 90 pound, fun-loving Golden Doodle, Tess!

Every day I am excited to work with our amazing caregivers. My primary responsibility is to accomplish the task of recruiting the most talented caregivers in the industry. I have the responsibility to ensure that your loved ones will be taken care of in very dignified and professional manner. I personally set the standard very high and I bring over sixteen years of experience in managing people.

I work very hard to make sure that the process of hiring caregivers is consistent to yield positive results specific to the request of the clients. I personally have dealt with a loved one who was in decline and the stress, difficulty, and uncertainty of it all can be overwhelming. With that experience I have made it a priority that others will not have to experience that difficulty by ensuring that the caregivers we hire also prescribe to and share a very high standard of care for your loved one. Here at Home Care Assistance of El Dorado County we offer only the best and hold ourselves to that promise. This is a passion that I have, to be a part of a service that is so essential to people and their quality of life. Being a part of that service with Glenn and Tammy we promise the best.

I grew up in the central valley and have lived in this beautiful county for over seven years. It is a place that I call home. When I am not working I enjoy time with friends and outdoor activities, especially walking my two dogs Mamas and Chewy.

I am usually the first point of contact for clients, families, and caregivers. I manage all aspects of the office and keep the rest of our team on track. I also lead in taking care of one of the most important assets of the company, our caregivers. I am involved with caregiver training, scheduling and daily communications.I love the relationship I have with our caregivers, they know that I am here for them 100%. I also love matching our caregivers with our wonderful clients, finding the perfect fit so everyone’s lives are enriched.

I have lived in El Dorado County since 1998. I am married with two sons. In my spare time we enjoy dancing, concerts, and watching sports.
